Package #3 is the popular pick if you want enough practice to cover the basics, build comfort on real Staten Island streets, and drill the maneuvers the road test grades on (parallel parking, three-point turns, lane changes) without needing to add extra lessons later. If you know upfront you're going to want ten, Package #3 saves money versus buying them one at a time.
Home pickup anywhere in Staten Island, or office pickup at 97 New Dorp Plaza. Home pickup is $20 more per lesson. The 5-hour pre-licensing class can be in or out of the package. Out saves you $25 if you already have the MV-278 certificate.
Too many lessons? Package #2 is 5, Package #1 is 2. Not enough? Package #4 is 15 and the Beginner Package is 25 plus a highway lesson. Ten is what we recommend if you haven't driven much but aren't starting from zero.
Depends on your starting point. Package #2 (5 lessons) can work if you already have the basics down and only need focused road test prep. Package #3 is the popular pick if you know upfront you're going to want about ten, since the per-lesson cost is lower than buying singles. If you've never driven at all, look at Package #4 (15 lessons) or the Beginner Package instead.
Lessons can happen back-to-back if you want, or spread out over a few months. The DMV road test appointment is the slow part, usually 4 to 8 weeks out. So 9 to 14 weeks end-to-end if you're moving fast.
Yes. We book it with the DMV on your behalf once your instructor thinks you're ready.
Yeah, teens are a big chunk of our Package #3 students. Junior permit holders in NYC are required to take the road test in a driving school car with dual controls, which our Corolla is.
You can add individual lessons to prep for the retake. The DMV reschedules the appointment, and the car is already covered by your package, so there's no extra cost from us for the retest.
Yes. You can book single 45-minute lessons any time. Highway driving, parking practice, confidence-building, whatever you want. A lot of Package #3 students come back for a highway lesson in their first month.
