Package #4 is for students who want more practice than ten lessons gives. If you're a nervous driver, a teen whose parents want thorough prep, or someone coming back to driving after years off, this is the one we'd recommend. Fifteen lessons gives your instructor time to come back to the hard stuff (parallel parking, left turns, merging) more than once.
Home pickup anywhere in Staten Island, or office pickup at 97 New Dorp Plaza. Home pickup is $20 more per lesson. The 5-hour pre-licensing class can be included in the package or not. Pick the version without it and save $25 if you already have the MV-278 certificate.
Package #3 is 10 lessons, which is enough for most first-time drivers. Go up to Package #4 if you want more practice, or to the Beginner Package (25 lessons plus highway) if you've never driven at all.
For most nervous drivers, yes. The extra lessons over Package #3 let your instructor come back to the things that make you anxious (lane changes, merging, parallel parking) more than once. Repetition is what kills the nerves.
Probably yes. Most retakes just need a couple of targeted lessons, which is why Package #1 exists. Only pick Package #4 for a retake if your first attempt showed real skill gaps, not a bad test day.
Yeah. A lot of parents pick Package #4 for teens because of the extra practice. Junior permit holders in NYC have to take the road test in a driving school car with dual controls, which our Corolla is.
Fifteen lessons at one or two a week is 8 to 15 weeks. The DMV road test appointment is another 4 to 8 weeks on top. So 12 to 20 weeks end-to-end. On a hard deadline, call us at (718) 333-5359 and we'll tell you what's doable.
