Package #2 is a good fit for people who already know the basics but want structured prep before the road test. It is also a common pick for students retaking the test after a fail.
A lot of Package #2 students end up adding a few extra single lessons on top, either for more practice before the test or to build confidence on specific things like parallel parking. If you know upfront you'll need more than five lessons, Package #3 (10 lessons) has a lower per-lesson cost.
Home pickup anywhere in Staten Island, or office pickup at 97 New Dorp Plaza. Home pickup is $20 more. The 5-hour pre-licensing class can be included in the package or not. If you already have the MV-278 certificate from somewhere else, pick the version without it and save $25.
If you've never driven, five lessons probably isn't enough. Look at Package #3 (10 lessons) or the Beginner Package. If you're already test-ready and just need the appointment, Package #1 (2 lessons) is cheaper.
For students with some experience, usually yes. For complete first-time drivers, five is often the starting point and you end up adding a couple of single lessons on top. Your instructor will tell you honestly before we book the DMV road test whether you're ready or need more time.

Lessons can happen as fast as you want to schedule them. The DMV appointment is the slow part, usually 4 to 8 weeks out. So 6 to 10 weeks is realistic.
Yes, New York requires it for every road test taker. We run the 5-hour pre-licensing class on Zoom every Saturday.
