Single lessons work for anyone who does not need a full package. Most of the people who book them fall into a few groups:
Licensed drivers who want a refresher after years off the road. Parents of permit holders who have already been practicing at home and just want a professional to check their kid's skills before the road test. Students who bought a package with us and want one extra lesson before their test.
Office pickup is $55. You meet us at 97 New Dorp Plaza, a minute from the SIR New Dorp station. Home pickup is $75, $20 more, and we come to you anywhere in Staten Island.
If you live close to New Dorp or can easily get to our office, pick the office rate. If you live far or your schedule is tight, home pickup is worth it.
Single lessons are the right call for one or two sessions. If you need a bunch, one of our packages will save you money:
Package #1 is 2 lessons plus the DMV road test appointment and car. Package #2 is 5 lessons and the road test, and is what most students at our Staten Island driving school pick. Package #3 is 10 lessons. Package #4 is 15. The Beginner Package is 25 plus a highway lesson.
Yes. New York requires a valid learner's permit before anyone can drive with an instructor. If you do not have one yet, visit the NYS DMV site to start the process.
Yeah, a lot of students do. It is 90 minutes behind the wheel instead of 45. Just book two sessions on the same day when you schedule.
No. Single lessons are just the lesson. If you need the DMV road test appointment and the car for test day, one of our packages covers both. Package #1 is the shortest one that does.
Yes. That is a common use. Book a lesson earlier on test day or the day before to warm up before the appointment.
No. Lessons happen in our dual-control Toyota Corolla. Our car is set up for instruction and required for junior permit holders anyway.
Give us at least 24 hours' notice. Lessons cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours are either forfeited or charged a $30 rescheduling fee. Full terms on our terms page.
