Who Can Take This Course

  • Valid NY Learner Permit required
  • Temporary paper permit accepted with NYS ID
  • Passport not accepted
After Completion: You will be issued a MV 278 Certificate required to schedule your NYS road test.
Important Clarifications
  • Is not a point reduction program
  • Does not reduce insurance premiums
  • Does not qualify drivers under 17 to drive alone

CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION IS CURRENTLY NOT PERMITTED.
TO TAKE THIS COURSE, YOU MUST PRESENT THE FOLLOWING
DOCUMENTS:
A CURRENT NY PHOTO LEARNER PERMIT
OR
A VALID INTERIM (PAPER) PERMIT WITH A NEW YORK STATE
GOVERNMENT-ISSUED ID CARD (SUCH AS A NON-DRIVER ID
CARD, EXPIRED NY PHOTO PERMIT, AND/OR EXPIRED NY
PHOTO LICENSE.
